Pre- Treatment Care:
Preparation of your skin is key and this starts minimum of 2 weeks before your scheduled appointment.
Needling—
Hydration is key to a good appointment and afterwards as well. When you are hydrated your skin tolerates pain better because the needles have a cushion. Your skin is more supple and elastic, more receptive to the ink or serum = less trauma. The needle doesn’t have to work so hard to get through your skin.
Dehydrated skin is tough, leathery, and does not take ink or serums well. The needle has to work harder requiring more passes which then is more traumatic to your skin.
No Alcohol— why? it causes dehydration also makes your blood thinner and also dilates your blood vessels, which then mixes with the ink or serum. Your skin will not absorb the serum or ink. Your pain will be more as your nerve endings are more sensitive and you’ll be inflamed. It also causes delayed healing. For best results, abstain from alcohol 48-72h prior to your appointment.
Avoid potent skin care for
Botox and Fillers- Space out your appointments 1-2 weeks apart. If you have sensitive skin I go by the rule of x2.
